Our mission is to establish a Society that is Self-reliant, respectful, dignified living for one & all with abundant opportunities & resources, a clean environment all around. We are a 100% compliant NGO, empanelled with TISS, CAF India, Global Giving, Guide Star India Gold transparency certificate, ISO 9001:2015 certification. Secured 1st place in Dhwani Niranthara-NGO assessment program, and also registered in NGO Darpan by NITI Aayog, FCRA, Kaushalya Karnataka accreditation. Dr. Venkatesh Naik founded SCODWES in the year 2005 with like-minded people. He pursued MSW, Diploma in Journalism, and Ph.D. in tribal studies. He is a great visionary and has about 28 years of experience in social development activities. He has great competency to envision strategically and systemically and to engage people and collaborations towards desired results. He believes in teamwork & everyone’s well-being is the core interest beneath all his activities. He has a commendable presence in the geography he works in and has been honored with many awards and recognitions for his contribution to this field.
SCODWES works for the welfare of underprivileged people of the society under different developmental projects. Resettlement and Rehabilitation of Endosulfan Victims, Integrated Tribal Development, Sustainable Agriculture for small and marginal farmers are the main domains of the organization. At present, there are 24 ongoing projects on Health, Agriculture, Skill, Rural Development etc. Endosulfan victims, PwDs, Tribal and indigenous communities, small & marginal farmers and women are the main focus in all the project activities we undertake.
Dr. Venkatesh Naik is the visionary founder and executive director of SCODWES, an NGO he established in 2005 along with like-minded individuals. With a Ph.D In tribal studies, he has dedicated nearly three decades of his life to social development, especially focusing on marginalized and underprivileged communities. He also holds a master’s in social work (MSW) and a Diploma in Journalism, bringing a diverse and comprehensive approach to his work in the development sector.
His leadership and strategic vision have made SCODWES a prominent force in uplifting rural and tribal communities. He excels in building collaborations and mobilizing resources to bring about impactful results. His approach is rooted in teamwork, believing that the well-being of every individual is the cornerstone of development. Dr. H.C. Boralingaiah, a distinguished academic and cultural advocate, serves as the President of SCODWES, bringing a vast reservoir of knowledge and leadership to the organization. Born in Kunigal taluk and based in Bengaluru, Dr. Boralingaiah’s academic journey has been one of excellence and dedication to tribal development and cultural preservation.
After earning his M.A. in Kannada from Bangalore University in 1981, where he was honored with the G.P. Rajaratnam Gold Medal, he pursued his Ph.D. from Kannada University’s Department of Social Sciences. His doctoral thesis, titled Amnesia and Culture: Culture Debate in the Background of a Tribal Worldview, reflects his deep intellectual engagement with tribal culture and its societal implications.
Dr. Boralingaiah’s academic and professional achievements have positioned him as a respected figure in both scholarly circles and cultural institutions. He has held key roles, such as:

Mr. K V Koorse, based in Sirsi, brings over 18 years of expertise in agriculture and watershed management to his role as Vice President of SCODWES. His professional journey includes serving as an Assistant Agriculture Officer in the Karnataka State Department of Agriculture and holding the position of District Watershed Development Officer. He also contributed as the Assistant Director of the Watershed Development Department at the Sub-Division Office in Mundgod for 2 years, and later as Assistant Director of Agriculture for the Karnataka State Department of Agriculture, Sirsi, for 4 years.
With a specialization in agriculture and watershed management, Mr. Koorse has been at the forefront of promoting sustainable rural development. His work in these fields has played a vital role in implementing innovative agricultural practices and advancing water conservation and management techniques within rural communities.

Mrs. Saraswathi N Ravi, from Sirsi, is a key pillar in the establishment and ongoing success of SCODWES. As a visionary leader, she played a vital role in founding the organization in 2005. With over 18 years of experience, she brings extensive expertise in finance and administration to her role as Chief Finance and Administrative Officer at SCODWES. Her leadership ensures that the organization maintains efficient financial management and seamless administrative operations, contributing to its long-term sustainability.
In addition to her work with SCODWES, She also serves as the President of SCODWES Mahila Souharda in Sirsi, promoting women empowerment and cooperative initiatives. She also holds the distinction of being the first female Director at Karnataka State Cooperative Federal Limited, demonstrating her commitment to the cooperative movement and gender equality. Furthermore, her contributions extend to her involvement with MYRADA, where she manages tasks related to accounting and documentation.
