Since 2008, SCODWES has positively impacted the lives of over 200,000 farmers through various agriculture and natural resource management projects. Our goal is to improve agricultural practices and livelihoods, helping farmers adapt to changing environmental conditions. Currently, we support over 45,000 farmers across Uttara Kannada, Haveri, Shivamogga, Gadag, Kolar, and Udupi districts

Agriculture Field Visits

Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs)

We actively promote 60 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), enhancing farmers’ market access and improving their bargaining power, ensuring better returns and sustainable growth.

Organic Village Project

Under the Organic Village Project, we have introduced sustainable farming practices to over 1,850 farmers in the Karwar and Bhatkal taluks, encouraging organic farming methods that improve crop yields and foster healthier ecosystems.

Poultry Farming

In partnership with the Karnataka Cooperative Kukkuta Mahamandal Bangalore under the National Agricultural Development Scheme, we promote local poultry farming, supporting farmers in diversifying their income

Aquatic Farming

In collaboration with the Department of Fisheries, we have established the Udupi Kinara Fish Farmer Producer Company in Sasthan, Udupi District, aimed at meeting seafood demand while conserving marine ecosystems. This initiative empowers women and youth from 20 self-help groups through training and support in sustainable fish farming

Su-Krushi Yojana

In collaboration with GIZ, the Su-Krushi Yojana promotes sustainable agricultural practices in five clusters across Uttara Kannada, benefiting an additional 5,000 farmers. This initiative educates farmers on eco-friendly practices that drive long-term success

Celebrating Traditional Agriculture

Through the Nati Habba at Saraswati Farm, Unchalli, organized as part of the Su-Krishi Project with GIZ, we celebrate traditional agriculture by preserving local rice varieties and reviving time-honored farming techniques

Empowering Farmers with Organic Inputs

We also produce organic bio-inputs and bio-fertilizers through the Su-Krushi Yojana, providing farmers with the resources needed for sustainable farming.

Beekeeping and Apiculture Training

As part of the Su-Krushi Yojana, in collaboration with ANZ, we offer training in beekeeping, focusing on hive management and honey extraction. This initiative supports sustainable agriculture while providing farmers with additional income opportunities.
